Long Island Jeep Dealership Rolls Out The 2011 Grand Cherokee
Long Island Jeep dealer Grand Prix Jeep Chrysler is proud to present its new line of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee follows of the success of its earlier models in providing a safe, practical and comfortable SUV. The 2011 Grand Cherokee brings the brand into the 21st century, with a host of high-tech features that will appeal to a broader consumer base.
The two engines available are a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and a 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The Pentastar gets 290 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The Hemi gets 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading the engine increases the towing capacity from 5,000 to 7,200 pounds.

The new Grand Cherokee has features designed for families as well as off-road enthusiasts. For those interested in going off-road, the wheels are on independent suspension for the first time, while the Quadra Trac II system (for all-wheel drives versions) tells each wheel how much power is needed depending on the type of terrain. With the optional Quadra Lift air suspension, small bumps in the road become completely imperceptible. The cargo area is 35.1 cubic feet, 5.6 more than the previous model.
For Long Island Jeep families, the onboard computer has 30 gigabytes of storage space for music (roughly the same as a mid-range iPod.) Satellite TV and surround-sound speakers come with the rear seat entertainment system. The rear seat has been expanded to allow more legroom, and is now as comfortable as a luxury SUV.
The 2011 Grand Cherokee was the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s top safety pick for 2010. Receiving this award requires a vehicle to receive top scores in all categories, including a roof crush test, side and front impact tests, whiplash prevention tests and others. A vehicle that qualifies must also have an electronic stability system, which is standard in all packages. For the Limited and Overland trims, a blind spot detection system, collision warning and backup camera are available.
