New Mopar Accessories Available for Long Island Jeep drivers

2011 jeep wranglerLong Island Jeep drivers, at Grand Prix Jeep Chrysler, our trademark four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is getting even better. Mopar has released a new kit that transforms the classic off-road vehicle to a two-door pickup truck.

Love the versatility of the Jeep put always wished that they made it into a truck? This kit is perfect for those Long Island Jeep Wrangler drivers.

The JK-8 kit for the Jeep Wrangler takes cues from the popular Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 from the 1980s. Highlights of the new kit include a spacious 44-inch by 50-inch steel bed, inner and outer bedsides constructed from stampede sheet metal, sport bar extensions, Freedom Panel assemblies, a removable fiberglass hardtop with a sliding rear window and two fixed side windows and a fiberglass bulkhead.

To celebrate the heritage that inspired the kit—the Scrambler CJ-8—a special badge is featured on the left rear quarter panel of each kit. Design features from original J-8 military Jeep pickups will also be implemented.

But how does a kit transform the classic Jeep Wrangler Unlimited into a pickup? In a special conversion process that disassembles, then reassembles, the vehicle. Everything from the rear doors to the rear bumper, hard top and portions of the interior are removed from the Wrangler Unlimited. Then, in reassembly, B-pillars and a truck bed are installed, along with other key components that transform the vehicle into a high performance pickup.
